Just the one winner today from Mathematician with Smarty Socks at Southwell. He also had a loser.
Graeme played on Antonius Ceasar (e/w) at Bangor, unplaced.
Optimum went each way on Alfadora at Kempton, which was also selected by Tipping Legends - ran a disappointing race and finished unplaced. Nothing doing from the other two Tipping Legends selections.
Finally SLH advised a win bet on Mongorno at Bangor. Horse made a mistake early and never really figured after that.
Andy Murray recorded his third successive win over Gilles Simon with a 6-4, 6-2 victory Wednesday for a place in the Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai semifinals. The Scot also beat Simon at ATP Masters Series events in Hamburg and Madrid this year.
Aston Villa seem to be everyone's second favourite team:
the American owner who hasn't mortgaged the club to the hilt or spectacularly fallen out with his business partner;
the charismatic manager who's forever the overachieving underdog and never quite gets the opportunity at the top table;
the good but not great players who miss out on superstar billing, the (actually much sung) unsung heroes like Friedal, Laursen and Barry;
a handful of England's next great hopes - a collective finger-crossing that Agbonlahor, Young and Milner do make good.
What with Spurs being too stupid, Everton too poor and Man City too rich, Villa are the best of the rest team it's OK to cheer on against the hated Big Four. They're even threatening to make a decent fist of European competition.
Getting a bit sickened by it all? Lay them in the Prem w/o Big Four market at 7/4.
Villa got off to their customary good start but, whilst they do have more depth than previous years, they will struggle to maintain this momentum through the whole season. In fact they already are, with defeats to Newcastle (away) and Middlesborough (home) in their last two league games. Whereas Everton, whose ill-equipped squad saw them begin the season fielding several largely unknown teenagers, have won three on the trot now they're back to something like full strength.
Meanwhile Spurs are enjoying a spectacular run during Redknapp's honeymoon, which has seen them beat Liverpool and City and draw with Arsenal. City themselves have been inconsistent - the current rumours over Hughes' future can't help matters - but represent something of a wildcard with the potential to spend big in January. And then there's everyone else. After twelve games only nine points separate fifth (Villa) from twentieth (WBA).
Aston Villa next four Prem fixtures: Arsenal (a), Man U (h), Fulham (h), Everton (a).
Premier League Without Big Four: 4 pts lay Aston Villa at 7/4, Betfair.
Founded in 1992, Sporting Index burst onto the scene offering something quite unique. ‘Spread Betting’, a new concept in sports betting. Allowing punters to bet on a multitude of possibilities, with the result in a sporting encounter being only one of them. This style of betting has taken off in a big way and so too has Sporting Index. They made their debut on the internet in 2002, and now have over 40,000 customers on their books from all parts of the globe.
It is estimated that Sporting Index control over 70% of the worldwide Spread Betting market. Customers can place bets and keep up to date with all the action through a variety of options including telephone, sky interactive and of course online. Sporting Index was the first to introduce ‘Bet on the move’, allowing punters to place bets, close bets, deposit and withdraw money through java enabled software on their phone. A true pioneer, Sporting Index is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is achievable.
Largest Range of Markets
They have one of the largest range of markets and bets available anywhere, with UK, European and US sports all featuring on the site. Horse racing is not really featured at Sporting Index, but there is major coverage of ball sports. Customers can select an account that controls their spending. By choosing a ‘Stop Loss/Win’ account, players can bet within their limits and avoid big potential losses.
There are bags of features on the Sporting Index for all levels of player. Beginners can benefit from the ‘play for fun’ option, allowing you to gain some understanding and get used to some of the highs and lows of spreads. The Bet maker is a great feature allowing punters to create their own portfolio of bets and make requests for new ones.
Welcome Bonus
Welcome bonuses for customers joining Sporting Index vary quite regularly. There are usually a variety of options to choose from and they are normally very large bonuses. This is partly because the first deposit is quite big though, so being aware of this is important. Bets start from as little as 1p on selected sports, which can be a bit of fun, especially when you’re starting out.
Apply for an account, place 5 bets (each with a risk of £20 or more) and Sporting Index will give you £100 cash paid straight into your account.
Check out the latest offers from Sporting Index by clicking here.
As there are not many alternatives to Sporting Index, their spreads can seem a little unfavourable at times. However if your willing to spend a bit of time checking out some of the markets you can find something that you can get some good value from.
A whole host of deposit options are available including, debit/credit card, money transfer and personal cheque. The minimum deposit is £150 when you open an account and £10 thereafter. This may seem steep, but if you know anything about spread betting it will seem quite acceptable. Withdrawals are straightforward, and you will usually receive payment onto your selected card within 3 days. Cheques are usually sent within 2 days of request.
All Sporting Index’s financial dealings are monitored by the FSA (Financial Service Authority) to protect customers and make sure they get a fair deal.
A company that realises the importance of top rate customer support, Sporting Index offer a variety of options to solve your enquiries. An ‘in-house’ customer service team are on hand between 9am – 8pm everyday of the week to answer queries either through their free phone service or by email. My calls were answered quickly with little waiting, even at busy times. The 1 hour email response policy between 9am-8pm at Sporting Index was justified when we made a number of enquiries, usually getting a solution in 30 minutes. A good all round service that you would expect from the Spread Betting market leader.
Spread betting challenges your skill, judgement and knowledge of your chosen area. The spread betting bookmaker makes predictions on various aspects of sporting or topical events. You then decide whether that prediction has been pitched too high or too low. Signup now for an account with Sporting Index.
Technical analysis can be applied in Betfair betting markets and many Betfair traders make money trading with it. Here are the Betfair charts of the favorite horses of 6 horse racing betfair markets which took place yesterday. Besides the odds movement, I have added to the Betfair graphs some technical analysis' elements, mainly trendlines, support and resistance levels. In that way I can discuss how to apply technical analysis in Betfair showing real examples.
Back Dundee United at home to Hibernian at odds in excess of 1.91 Back Inverness C at home to Falkirk at odds in excess of 2.38 Back Motherwell at home to Rangers at odds in excess of 6.5
Well I was on the Aston Martin website this morning viewing the DB7's available. I thought that's the closest I'm going to get to owning one of them :o) Another tough day yesterday with the DB7 system, despite managing to lay to 86% of the SP it still ended the day down £106. Back to some more maths this morning and to be honest I can't see anything wrong, I looked at my profit over the last week or so since I've been running the system and it showed a 5% return to my outlay, I'm averaging about 90% to Betfair SP so I would hope about a 10% return on outlay, maybe I'm just a bit unlucky at the moment. I've reeled the stakes back in a little and we'll see how today goes. I think the two days I increased the stakes just happen to be very unlucky days, I layed one horse at 5.8 in the morning, it went off at 14's, and then duely romped home. I got to thinking about maybe levelling up each bet to the SP but this would probably not make much difference, think I've just got to trust the figures and hang in there a bit longer.
The in play football app clawed a little money back anyway with a profit of £40 in the evening.
There's some powerstats tonight, I'll post them later.
Not sure if it was Sunday, where we had the decent run on the footy, or Monday, where thanks to the Betfair upgrade (which was due to end at 7.30, then 8.00, and finally 8.20!)I profited from their inability to get things fixed! As mentioned in the last post, I backed Wycombe and left a lay up at 1.88 to guarantee a profit, only when I got back in, of course I couldn't see whether I had been matched or not! (yes I could have phoned up before it went down at 5, but I didn't!) So I looked at the price on Betdaq, 2.23, so very likely not! I could have laid off for a mediumish loss, but I decided to stick with my view that Wycombe should win anyway, and if the truth be known I would probably have backed them at the new price had I not done so anyway! By the time the site finally started working (half time) I could lay off at the somewhat better price of 1.07 as they were 2-0 up ;) I found out that the price had actually bottomed at 1.90 before shooting up again pre match, no idea why! So several bits of luck as it almost hit my requested odds, and I would certainly have done so when they were 1-0 up!
After last night's trades, I am down a total of £96.00 on the sports betting, which is somewhat better than the £425.71 I was a week ago on Betfair, and if you include a couple of small wins on betdaq and bwin (using the bit left there from the Chalfont FA Cup win there! - and why not I here you say!) I am almost level!
Poker was however, continuing to follow the month's pattern last night, lost in the 7.00 in around 24th with a slow played AA being rivered by KJ hitting a J after getting all the chips in on a King high flop :( However, the 9.30 fared somewhat better, got a number of decent hands which survived, and almost immediately after hitting the final table got KK, chip leader raised 3bbs early, 1 caller, I decided to jam hoping he had a decent hand which wasn't AA, if he had, meh.... he had JJ and instacalled, I held up to have not far short of half the chips in play! Picked my spots carefully, had a nice bit of luck 3 handed when the shorty slow played AA, had KH10H, so a board with two hearts and a 10 on it was always looking good for plenty of outs, and duely hit a K on the river!
Heads up my opponent was a complete loony to put it mildly, raising huge amounts almost every hand no matter what I did, so with even stacks and around 40bbs it was a case of waiting for some cards to finish him off, which quickly arrived!
However, I wouldn't even have been playing were it not for Chalfont's Bucks & Berks Cup match at Aylesbury Vale being called off for the 2nd time due to a waterlogged pitch, so another bit of good luck! My hills account is back in profit at least ;)
Let's hope this new found fortune continues for a while yet, it is very welcome, not to say long overdue....
Just a handful of bets, with the only winner being Nevada Royale from Isiris (now their 8th winning main account bet in a row, and as you can imagine KB is feeling pretty pleased with himself).
Elsewhere, Optimum put up Brave Villa at Lingfield who finished third and there were three losers for Tipping Legends, all to minimum stakes.
Added to that, no joy on the football, as Swansea were unable to repeat Sundays victory over Watford and so my treble was sunk.
Still feeling pretty rough after my spill yesterday. I'm OK as long as I don't try and do anything silly - like moving.
Lesson learned I suppose, crashing into brick walls is not a good idea. Ouch !!!

I went down to Lambourn yesterday and spent the morning with Tom Dascombe. He’s extended his stable by taking over the stables next door - until recently the home of Paul Blockley. I had a look at all my horses.
There isn’t a lot to report. All were well. Marine Boy continues to impress with his physique, as does Max One Two Three. Shawhill looked better than she has ever looked on the course, but she’s unlikely to race again. Tikka Masala is skinny and I’d like to see her fill out a little. My Mr Greeley filly, currently called Princess Aurora, looked superb - I imagine she’ll be an early type.
My next day’s racing will probably be Sunday at Fontwell - Mon Michel is a likely starter in the Tikram hurdle. The race of the day on Sunday is probably the Greatwood hurdle at Cheltenham in which Ashkazar is likely to make his reappearance as favourite. He made a very big impression on me in the Imperial Cup at Sandown last year.
Prince Ary was one of two David Pipe trained runners in the race that day - Ashkazar was the other one. I was with David while the two of them were being saddled side by side in the ring beforehand. I was dumbstruck;
AB : How the !*@* is Prince Ary going to beat that beast?!
DP : Well you never know…
I pretty much did know - as it was Ashkazar lead from start to finish, never looking remotely troubled. He’s not the prettiest horse I’ve ever seen but there is something quite awesome about him - very big but with the right proportions for a big horse, good legs with strong bone, well muscled but not over muscled.
I could see him losing out to a smaller horse on quick ground, but with a little juice he’s the type to set a pace that the vast majority of horses will not be able to live with. As a strong type he should be a great weight carrier and better value at the top of the handicap. It’s probably going to be good to soft at Cheltenham on Sunday - it will be a classy race but I’d expect him to gallop the opposition into submission.
I wasn’t going to bet this week as I’ve got a lot to catch up on, but I found some time to go through the card and I’ve picked a couple out at Exeter.
Supreme Cara has her first run for Jimmy Frost, and she comes back to hurdles. She has heavy ground that she clearly goes well on and she could be a bit of value in a tricky race (2:10).
Supreme Tagdh is another apparent mudlark who has only won twice in his life - both first time up. He’s not getting any younger but I often back older horses in their first run - I’ll take him to give Jeremy Geake his first jump winner of the year in the 3:40.
I find it bemusing that even in an office environment people can't sit back or stand up for two minutes at 11am. Although the office went quiet for the two minute Rememberance Day silence there was still the odd tapping of keys or clicking of mouse buttons, quite unbelievable really.
Nice to see a flurry of comments yesterday and good to see the old faces still alive and well. I remember the likes of Ray and Brian as being the inspiration for starting my blog (I'm sure many of you out there put it more as blaming them!). Brian is still going well with his Wilkinson system although automating it is proving a bit more tricky.
Talking of tricky....making money on horses is tricky, although yesterday I would of put it another way :o) My horse laying app (DB7) took a stomach churning £200.00 hit yesterday, not a penny more, not a penny less, £200.00 on the nose. I've looked at it and realised that to be honest I had stretched it to far, laying to many horses and hoping for ridiculous rank outsiders to come in to get the full profit. So now I've reduced it to just laying 3 per race. I have done the maths this morning and I still layed yesterday to 90% of Betfair SP but I would need to wait a long time for that 90% to even out. I suppose in theory I could lay just one horse per race but I think I can get away with 3. I've also taken the place markets out of it for now. It's easier keeping track using the win only market, lets get that working first :o)
No football last night, all the in play matches started during the Betfair 'upgrade' so my app didnt run on them, not that I think there were many anyway.
I've heard back from Klaus at Betdruid and apparently the version on his site expired on 1st Nov, hence the reason for it not working. He has got the new version going through certification at Betfair and is sending me over a copy as soon as it's ready.
Here in Malta we’ve just had the budget. There is now an income tax exemption for working mothers for one year which is granted to women returning to work after having a baby. This income tax exemption applies for every working mother in respect of children born during 2007 and subsequent years. Well, there is a baby MOM here at MOM Towers born August 7th 2007. And as his mum works I thought this was a massive tax break as my partner is MD of a German sportsbook. The headline looked great - work and pay no tax! Sadly, the exemption is capped at a few thousand Euros. But still a nice break all the same.
Then Malta decides to incentivise the use of bicycles with a refund of 15.25% on the acquisition price of each bicycle. That really made me laugh. No one rides a bicycle here. And I mean no one. I can’t remember the last time I saw somebody on a bike. Why? The picture here tells the story. The roads in Malta are the worst in Europe. Think of a neglected country lane in England and most of the main roads are worse than that. Seriously.
The only exception is the road from the airport to the Golden Sands where I go for a croissant and a dip in the morning occasionally. And that’s only because HRH Queen Elizabeth II had a Commonwealth meeting there a couple of years ago. Really. It’s true. The Maltese government couldn’t imagine Lizzie getting thrown all over the place in the royal limo on the bumps, humps and lumps. Malta has a lot going for it but roads are not what you’d expect in Europe. Some small third world countries do better.
I know there are a lot of expatriates who read this blog and you might be interested in OffshoreInn.com which is a new creation by me. Let me know what you think here or there if you like the theme or not. Content is added daily by myself and many other contributors.
Well, that’s it for today. I hope you’ll join me lunchtime tomorrow - 1.00pm UK time - when I’ll be chatting to Mark who is BetbotPRO’s developer. It promises to be a great show. See you then.
SCD - Cherie to be Eliminated (Week 9) - 25-1 1.5 pts William Hill
As someone who is backed Cherie in SCD at the start, (Outright, Top Woman) I think this is an extremely dangerous week for her (with a Latin dance). I've taken the 25-1 at William Hill as a quasi-cover bet, but even if I didn't have any bets in the outright market I'd place this bet. BTW I think she COULD come good this week, just at 25-1 I'm prepared to chance against it. She is only 25-1 this week because a successful ballroom dance last week....
Hit the wall today, not in terms of the profits, but lost control of the bike today and spent the afternoon in casualty. Nothing broken, but a few bumps and bruises and very shaken up, and this is taking a while to type !!
For obvious reasons, never got to phone any of the tipsters - which was a shame as SLH managed to find Spinning (won 7/1) on his all weather line, and Malko De Beaumont (won 5/1 advised) and Nicozetto (won 7/1 advised) on his main line. Mathematician found Having A Ball (won 10/3 advised) and a loser. Tipping Legends and Isiris both gave out a loser. So an expensive accident for me, missed out on over £1200, but I really ain't bothered about that today.
Still Sergio managed to win the golf in a play off to net me £1000, less the losing bet on KJ Choi, to cheer me up a bit.
I think there is a possibility that Laura White will be asked to make a return to X-factor. Stan James have a market on Laura's return and make her 10/1 for this eventuality. If Laura returns, she will be one of the favourites (and I'll be in an excellent position to layoff this bet for a guaranteed profit).
Behold, the DB7 :o) The new application now in full production on TalkBet.....This is my horse laying application that seems to be doing well. Yesterday it showed a profit of £60 and layed the horse winners market to 87% of SP and the horse place market to 99% of SP (bit close for comfort there though!). I'll update the results for it each day.
Yesterday's football in play app finished with a £20 profit, happy enough with that, over the course of a month thats £600.... :o)
I've now knocked my horse picks on the head. I had a couple of long losing sequences that brought up my max loss point on one occasion and only stopped it being hit the second time by finding a winner on the last opportunity! I'll put the idea on the back burner until the Flat Season gets back going properly again next year, the system seemed to really tail off as the Flat races diminished.
New link on the right now to SelectaBet , seems to be going well for him!
As an aside, anyone know what happened to Brian ? I cant remember the name of his blog but he seemed to strike gold arbing across at best bookie prices but then his blog died and I never heard anymore. While on the subject, what about Ray the Betdaq trader, is he still around ?
If anyone wants any links added then drop them in the comments, I could do with some new blogs to read :o) RedAndBlack seems to of gone quiet which is ominous....!
Well, can't say I didn't try. Spent the last two days trying the double or nothings, and ended busting earlier last night. I ran absolutely ridiculously badly, outdraws (mainly riverings), dominated hands finding miracle outers, more than 1 opponent with less than one blind left somehow winning a succession of unlikely hands to put me out on the bubble, running into a number of monsters every time I pushed late with 1 or 2 more needed to go, coin flips, you name it, it happened. I used the fpps in an equally pointless attempt to qualify for the m takedown, with simmilar results! So as promised I have uninstalled stars, with and 2 fpps left (I did try to find something where I could use them!) I'm not going to redeposit, I'll take it as a sign I'm not meant to be there ;)
So hills it is, with the occasional devilfish tourney, speaking of which, the latest bounty summed up my month, on his table with a 3 way all in against him and one other, flopped a straight, punched the air....and then watched in utter disbelief as he got runner runner for the split....cheerio 250 euros....and it wasn't long before I got JJ, got jammed on, instacall, clown had 22, and hit another on the flop, nh, wp, fo.
To get the month level on the poker side will now take a bit of a miracle, to put it mildly!
However, the footy yesterday has at least put a reasonable dent in the losses from last weekend (this is to cheer me up and remind me I can win occasionally): Speaking of which, if you can still back Wycombe at evens to beat AFC Wimbledon by the time you read this (Blue Square the only firm still that price) then do so, as it is only 1.93 on Betfair, and I am told they should put out a pretty much first choice side! Won't get too much chance this evening as Betfair have scheduled their latest upgrade (which means site unavailable) for 17.00 - 19.30! Oh, and the spanish footy match on Saturday evening saw Malaga take the lead against Real Madrid, match suspended, but anyone who had backed them and wanted to lay off was unable to do so...because the clowns who make up the market operations team did not re-open the market in time before Madrid equalized OVER TWO MINUTES LATER! Such utter incompetence...if only Betdaq could get their act together :( :(

Now, let's get the poker P&L looking a bit better also ;)
Cheers for reading and hope you are running better than me ;)
It was Graeme's birthday on Saturday, and he was able to celebrate in style after tipping up the winner of the November Handicap, Tropical Strait, at 22/1 !!
So that another brilliant day for me, elsewhere Isiris had another main account bet winner (7 in a row) with Tchico Polos at 5/4. No other winners from any of the six selections of Tipping Legends. Mathematician also drew a blank, and Graeme's other selection on the day was a loser but I guess I can let him off that one !
Added another £260 to the profits with my football bets.
Profit on day £1112
Sunday 9 November
Can't win everyday of course, and nothing doing on a quiet Sunday.
SLH went with Alto Stratus each way at Hereford. Horse also put up as a win bet by Tipping Legends. Didn't see the race but he finished sixth, never looked like winning according to the write up on the Post website. The other Tipping Legends selection was Cosmic String advised each way, and as has been the case so many times this year the horse finished one place out of the money in 4th.
SLH's all weather bet was Eleanor Eloise at Kempton - unplaced.
Loss on day £350
The profit for the year to date now stands at £13,892, and over £6000 in front in the last three weeks !!
Have a chance of adding to this tomorrow as I am on Sergio Garcia in the HSBC golf in Shanghai. He's currently two shots off the lead with 15 holes of his final round to go. Tee off is 7.50 tomorrow morning so I will check in at lunchtime and see how he got on.
Another disappointing result for the powerstats this afternoon with Man City losing. I find Man City and Spurs two of the most unpredictable teams to bet on anyway so I suppose the bet was on a hiding to nothing anyway :o)
The stats have been very disappointing this season, not sure of any reason for it, I'm not doing anything different with them. Cheers for the comments. Looks like your stats are a little more reliable Cassini :o) When I first started looking at stats I wanted to create my own odds for each game but I couldnt find any reliable method of it so I moved onto trying to create ratings for teams and then running those ratings over previous results and odds. I then come up with a filter for each league (apart from League Two where I couldnt find any reliable ratings that made a profit), its not just a case of finding the most profitable filter its also coming up with a system that only supplies say two or three predictions for each division each week. If it came up with hundreds of predictions each week I wouldnt have the bank to cover them all!
Bit of trouble running BetDriud yesterday so I'll contact them and see if I need to do anything else after installing.
The In Play app took the usual Saturday night hammering yesterday with Real Madrid and Barcelona taking £350 off me, and the day was looking so good till then! Ended the day down £140 in the end. More last minute goal woes today with Inter this time being the villains turning a £287 profit into a £97 loss. Maybe if I was around I'd of got out of it but I wasn't and I didn't, no point in crying over apilt milk, they are off my christmas card list though :o)
Wolves was called off last night so the horses ended up down £3, more importantly though my average lay was to 90.76% of SP. Today they have ended up £60, I'll work out the value price tomorrow morning.
Im sure I had plenty more to say, it can wait till tomorrow :o)
John Seargent to win SCD - 1pt 100/1, Top Male 1pt 66/1 (Boylesports)
If I have been informed correctly, the dance off tonight will between Heather and Rachael, with Heather being evicted. What this shows us is that John Sergeant is either finishing at the top (or near the top) with the audience voting. (Otherwise he couldn't;t have got above Rachael). I've therefore had a speculative 1pts on both the winner (100/1) and top male (66/1) on John Sergeant for the audience to continue to confound the judges.
Since Last Post P/L: £310.85 Monthly P/L: £310.85 . Before now I've often been guilty of forgetting the contents of my previous post so with this in mind I'll get the bit about my head out of the way. The staples came out last Monday and if I do say so myself I was very brave (ha!) and all that remains is a chunky scar which should at least serve as a reminder on not to be such an idiot in future! Of course, despite this mental note I maintain that my mate was to blame :-) . My trading involvement has been relatively quiet so it's given me a chance to catch up on some reading. 'Reminiscences of A Stock Operator' was one title missing from my collection and with it being regarded as one of the best I was starting to feel a bit like a fraud for not having given it a look previously. I haven't finished it yet so I won't give a full review but my initial impressions are that if you can get past the way the book is written (it was 80 years ago and wordings have changed) there are some hidden gems on how to look at the bigger picture. It seems that the big money is to be made in the big swings and this is not something I've given my full focus to before. I've often looked to just the short term and whether that's for 1 minute, 10 or 20 maybe I haven't fully considered the conditions of the markets I've been active in. Plenty of food for thought there. . Where possible I've continued to try and lend Betdaq my business - it hasn't been easy but the graphic below will help illustrate that generating decent sized profits on some in-play markets is possible. I went on to lose a bit of this cash but that doesn't matter ;-) .
. What about the rest? Well, the Stanford Superstars giving England a whooping did make me chuckle. Everyone at the ECB got what they deserved in my eyes, and I'm sure they're regretting the decision to get involved with the whole thing now. It was very embarrassing. People have made comparisons regarding the sums of money available to that in football but until now there's never been a situation where Chelsea have been pitched to play Arsenal for million in a one off match. No, although I enjoyed the spectacle, the Stanford match represented greed and for that reason it left a sour taste in the mouth. Not sure my comments mean much though as it also netted me a profit! . Anyway, here are my full results for the beginning of November: . Cricket Stanford Superstars v England : £169.86 . American Football Green Bay @ Tennessee : £80.35 Dallas @ New York Giants : £48.33 . Horse Racing Wolverhamption : £8.27 Plumpton : £9.47 . Soccer Newcastle v Aston Villa : £9.58 . Rugby Union Australia v New Zealand : £18.99 Scotland v New Zealand : £117.30 . Elsewhere, we've been given the date of the 19th November for Caden's full heart repair operation. This date has already been pushed back once so it's possible it could happen again but if everything goes to plan then the blog and my trading activity are likely to be put on hold come the end of the month. We're now at the stage where we just want to get the operation out of the way so that we can look forward to our first family Christmas. .
about a year ago i invested in an internet company deep in truble i waited for a long time and today it all paid
during the year i was at time down 80% on my investment if i was a typical scalper i would have closed the position at 10% loss or so but i am not i am a value investor and i know i can win much more than i can lose so i did not panic and today the deal is closed and the warrant is sold with 1632.39% profit
World number four Andy Murray will face Andy Roddick in his first-ever Masters Cup match at 1200 GMT on Monday. The Briton has been drawn in the red group alongside Roddick, Roger Federer and Gilles Simon for the season-ending event in Shanghai. Novak Djokovic, Juan Martin del Potro, Nikolay Davydenko and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga make up the gold group, which gets under way at 0600 GMT on Sunday.
It was a fine start to the Powerstats with Arsenal coming in after starting the game 3.7 (ish). After that it was pretty much downhill although to be honest we were only one evens game away from coming out of the day back level. There were a few disappointing games with Norwich and Plymouth both letting leads slip from their grasp in the last 10 mins.
I normally come on here moaning about late goals but today I'll make an exception thanks to Defoe's last min pen giving us a much welcome 2-1 win at Sunderland ;o)
The value betting application (that needs a name now....) for horses had a great day yesterday bringing in almost £100. I havent had a chance to look at my overall percentage value for yesterday as yet. Today it has been a little quieter and is currently a massive £3 down :o) Evening racing at Wolverhampton to come though.
I meant to give a plug the other day to a new application - BetDruid. A free trading application with massive host of features, am just downloading it so I'll give more of an update tomorrow. Looks very promising though.
Just the one powerstat for tomorrow:
Back Man City at home to Tottenham at odds in excess of 2.25
In play football application made a very welcome £200 as well last night.
Dog racing is for mugs. Fact :o) Good evening out though!
Recently I started a weekly column on poker and this continues our once a week look at a game that I have played for over 30 years. I still remember my father going through all the different hands with me after Christmas lunch. One of my favourite sites was launched in 2004 and Full Tilt Poker continues to showcase its ambition through massive growth and a reputation as one of today’s market leaders. Adding to its prestige is Team Full Tilt, a group comprised of more than a dozen poker legends, including Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Allen Cunningham, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Mike Matusow, Clonie Gowen, Jennifer Harman and Erik Seidel.
These sponsored pros can be found playing at all limits in all variations across Full Tilt, and are also available for real-time chat at the tables. Anyone good enough to win Full Tilt Poker satellites for entry to the biggest live poker tournaments will also be able to play the pros live.
Full Tilt Poker
At Full Tilt Poker there is action to be found at any poker game and at any limit. You’ll very often find me at the limit hold’em heads up tables. The site was the first poker room in the business to offer ultra high-stakes games, attracting some of the absolute best players in the world. The high-stakes player can often find monster action filled with the best in the world, playing for pots of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The games offered at Full Tilt Poker include Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo, Five-Card Draw, Razz and various mixed games. The games vary between No-Limit, Pot-Limit and Fixed-Limit. Full-table games, shorthanded and heads-up tables are all available.
Full Tilt Poker is also one of few sites offering mixed games such as H.O.R.S.E., H.A. and H.O.S.E. in both cash games and tournaments, making the game variation some of the most extensive and impressive online.
Poker Room
The poker room’s software is unique, boasts some very innovative functions, is very stable and features excellent graphics; indeed, it is one of the best in the industry. The functions are easy to use and the points shop is also excellent, offering players all sorts of cool merchandise that can be acquired with their Full Tilt Poker points. The graphics are innovative, with cartoon-style avatars, and the software offers different table types with optional backgrounds.
Overall, the traffic volume is in the very top segment of the industry. Real-money player statistics as of October 2008 show 10,500 ring-game players at peak hours, and 70,000 tournament players at peak hours.
Support response time and quality are both very good at Full Tilt Poker, and e-mails are often answered almost immediately. Some support lag has been known to occur at times, however, due to the high influx of players or during a large software update.
Full Tilt Poker is backed and owned by some of the biggest names in the business and has no reported issues. You can use eCheck, Visa, MasterCard, Neteller, Moneybookers, InstaDebit, ClickandBuy, cash transfer and Click2Pay and withdraw by Visa, Click2Pay, Moneybookers, InstaDebit, ClickandBuy and cheque.
That’s it on the poker front for another week. Good luck to you as always. See you at the tables soon.
Nascar Sprint Cup Checker O'Reilly 500 - Jimmie Johnson (4/1) - 4 pts, Jamie McMurray (50/1) - 0.5pts E/W
Jimmie Johnson has an excellent record at this track and will be keen to bounce back from last weeks poor performance) to win this race and make as likely as possible that he will win the Championship (2 races to go, including this race). He has qualified first on the grid (indicating last weeks issue has been resolved) and I think should be a 2/1 chance to win the race. I'm having 4pts at 4/1 at Boylesports.
I'm also having 0.5pst E/W on Jamie McMurray for this race from 2nd on the grid (max allowed - I tried to have 2pts E/W). He has been very unlucky with mechanical problem in the past few weeks, and was again unlucky last. It was only the daring fuel strategy from Edwards (who needed to maximizes points for the Championship) that stopped McMurray winning this race which an inspired to 2 tyre only change at the final pitstop.
Update: BlueSq have opened a market ion thsi race and have Jamie McMurray at 66/1 - I've had a further 1pt E/W (Max allowed)
US Presidential Election 2012 - Jeb Bush - 2pts win 100/1, 1pt Republican Nomination 33/1 - Labrokes
If Jeb Bush chooses to stand for the Republication nomination for the 2012 Election, he has an excellent chance of securing it. He was able to win (and get re-elected) as Florida Governor and, most importantly, has the Bush name to help him. His was always seen as a stronger candidate than the last Bush President (his brother) and would have the support of his family. Jeb Bush would stand on a centre right platform which, if Obama's Presidency is unsuccessful, could work well electorally. Of course there are many other Republican possible challengers (not least Palin), but at 100/1 I'm prepared to invest a couple of points of my Obama winnings. I've also had 1pt (max allowed) on him securing the Republican nomination.
