Everyone is always looking for tips and advice from the best and Dan Harrington is considered to be one of the best. Dan Harrington has an impressive resume when it comes to poker which includes two bracelets at the World Series of Poker and one happens to be the Main Event bracelet. Just so happens that Dan Harrington won the satellite to the Main Event the year he won event and he wanted to cash in his $10,000 buy in token for cold hard cash but he was a not aloud. He wanted to cash out because he wanted to play cash games and he wasn't a big tournament player at the time but I guess winning the Main Event can change all that. Before his tournament success ‘Action Dan' has had success in cash games which lead him to writing this book. Harrington on Cash Games covers a wide range of topics that will help anyone improve their cash game skills. The book covers stack sizes, playing the blinds, big-medium-small pairs, pre-flop aggression, suited connectors, attacking limpers, implied odds, avoiding big mistakes, dealing with short stacks, and he also takes a look at hand evaluations. Like I said this book covers a wide variety of information and I didn't even mention half the topics in the book. For a player not familiar with cash games or poker in general there is something for everyone in this book. I am not a big cash game player myself but I am strongly considering giving it a shot after the analysis and the breakdown of hands that take place within this book.
Volume 2 of this book picks up right where volume 1 left off. In volume 2 Harrington discusses the ways to mix up your style of play for example when to be aggressive and when to call of the dogs to secede the hand. One of the coolest things about volume two may be the interview at the end of the book. The interview is with Bobby Hoff who is considered to be one of the best No Limit Hold'em players we have today. With two great poker minds discussing their strategies and both of them offering advice, this is one interview a cash game player wouldn't want to miss. Also in this book you can get advice of how to play the turn and river a little more effectively because these are the streets where the hand really comes full circle. Dan Harrington's: Harrington on Cash Games is one poker book that I do truly recommend to any new player or any player looking to improve their game. I must be honest when I say that I do not like to read but this book keeps you interested and offers quality insight into hands and it really get you thinking more about the game you are playing. With his history of success and the resume he brings to the table I don't think anyone should miss out on this read. Pick up Volume 1 and 2 at a store near you and begin to crush the competition in cash games. Own online/live cash games like before with Harrington on Cash Games.
