Online Poker - Poker Books

There are plenty of poker books to choose from when you are deciding which poker book to read and I mean there are PLENTY.  Obviously all the books you will read will offer tips, advice, and strategy toward the game of poker but many of the books are different.  Some books may be offering you cash game advice, some may offer you multi tournament advice or even give you tips to help you destroy the field in the sit n go world.  Though there are multiple books for the topics I just mentioned; the books are written by different authors/players so the readers can get a wide range of information and then proceed to use the strategy that fits them. Super System may be the most popular poker book on the market today and that may because it comes from the legendary Doyle Brunson.  Today I want to share some of the other poker books that may not get the same publicity but still offer great poker advice.

There are a lot of books that will help any newbie but the books I'm about to discuss will help anyone learn the curves of the No Limit Hold'em cash game.  We might as well start with Dan Harrington and his book Harrington on Cash Games: Volumes 1 and 2.  There's no question anyone can learn something from these two books as Dan Harrington has already won a WSOP Bracelet which just happened to be the Main Event.  In this book he discusses starting hands, stack sizes, and also talks about pot commitment when you are in hand.  Volume 1 and 2 are the more popular cash game books on the market today and if you want to enhance your skills in cash games then I defiantly recommend Harrington on Cash Games.  Now I am going to discuss books dealing with what most of the online player's play which is tournaments and sit n go poker.

I have already mentioned one of the most popular books which is Super System in which it's hard to argue the value of this book.  Other books that are worth mentioning include Theory of Poker, Tournament Poker for Advanced Players: Expanded Edition, Small Stakes Hold'em, Phil Gordon's:  Little Green Book and last but not least Barry Greenstein's Ace on the River.  Some of you may be familiar with Barry Greenstein's book as he likes to sign a copy to whoever knocks him out of live tournaments (little tid bit).  Another book that I have learned about over my course of playing is Kill Everyone which will defiantly help anyone's Sit n Go game and bring positive results to anyone who reads it.

Now I have only mentioned a couple books within this article but these are the books that I have heard about the most and they be the most effective.  But this doesn't mean this is all that is out there because there are hundreds of books for players to read.  Each book brings different strategies and a variety of tips that anyone could benefit from.  If you are new to the game then I suggest picking up one these or some other poker book before you play because a poker book can only your results.  Good reading and good luck at tables everyone.
